The John S. McCain National Defense Authorization (NDAA) is a United States federal law which specifies the budget, expenditures and policies of the U.S. Department of Defense. For Fiscal Year 2019, the NDAA Section 889, prohibits the U.S. government from procuring video and telecommunication equipment from certain Chinese companies and their subsidiaries.

Section 889 contains the prohibition on certain telecommunication and video surveillance services or equipment from specific vendors.  It also contains several provisions that have a major impact on currently existing and future US government-related video surveillance deployments.  

The NDAA ban extends to manufacturers in cases in which the video surveillance cameras or systems from specified vendors are offered under another manufacturer’s brand name typical of OEM, ODM, and JDM relationships.

In compliance with the NDAA Act, the declaration below indicates the specific Ventra models that utilize HiSilicon components.  

NOTE:

Ventra DOES NOT have manufacturing relationships (OEM, ODM or JDM) with the named vendors in the NDAA.  Only the component is used as part of the system.

While the above mentioned systems utilize Non NDAA compliant SoC, we emphasis that Ventra does not engage in any form of business or partnership with HiSilicon or its affiliates.
